TORONTO – The Canadian Future Party is officially launching its national platform, offering Canadians a pathway to transform Canada into a Northern Democratic Superpower. The special event will take place on Monday April 14th at the Hilton Toronto Hotel, 145 Richmond Street West, Toronto at noon.
“As a start-up party that held its founding convention in November 2024, and with evidence-based decision making at the core of its ideology, the party has not set its sights on an election win this time around,” says Dominic Cardy, Leader of the CFP. “We are not here to win this election; we are here to change the debate.” “About 15 of our ideas have been picked up by other parties so far and we're going to keep on pushing those out there, so please, steal our platform!”
“For too long, Canada has coasted through the long post-1989 peace”, says Cardy. “Our social programs, economy, and national defence have suffered. Now the world has changed, and we have no choice but to accept constraints, challenges, and opportunities. The CFP offers a series of policies that, if adopted, will set a new course – steering our country away from nostalgia for the good old days and from the lure of economic and moral utopias. The CFP invites you to leave behind the political 20th century and to join us in preparing Canada to meet the challenges of the 21st century.”
Making Canada the World’s Northern Democratic Superpower
Canada must chart its own future—no longer a client state, but as a confident, sovereign democracy. With the United States drifting toward isolationism and authoritarian rhetoric, Canada must build the capacity to stand on its own. That means it must assert full control over its critical resources and defence industry. Canada’s overreliance on the U.S. for rare earth minerals, military technology, and defence procurement leaves it exposed to political whims and economic coercion.
The CFP will develop a national rare earth strategy to mine, process, and refine critical materials domestically and will also invest in Canadian defence manufacturing, including alternatives to U.S.-licensed technologies, to ensure it can defend itself on its own terms.
Making democracy deliver – for you, your family, your country
Strengthening democracy begins at home. CFP supports reforms that will simplify our tax system and social programs to make them work better for Canadians. Immigration is vital to Canada’s economic and social future, and needs an approach that is rooted in fairness, transparency, and planning. Strategic investments in early childhood education, energy, healthcare, and housing will ensure that every Canadian can thrive. Canada must enhance partnerships with fellow democracies abroad while eliminating interprovincial trade barriers at home, bolstering its global presence while building a stronger, more connected nation.
Strengthening democracy, defending our values
The CFP envisions a House of Commons where MPs are empowered to truly represent their constituents, fostering a stronger connection between the people and their government through electoral reform. The party also commits to a renewed relationship with Indigenous peoples, built on justice and partnership, and seeks to enhance Canada's voice on the world stage by strengthening the public broadcaster (CBC/Radio-Canada) and championing an ethical foreign policy. These bold initiatives promise to strengthen democratic values, promote national unity, and ensure a more secure and prosperous future for all Canadians.
